The president’s daughter, Jenna Bush and her longtime sweetheart Henry Hager are married. The couple said “I Do” under an outdoor tent on the property of President George W. Bush’s 1,600 acre Crawford, Texas, ranch in front of 200 distinguished guests.

“This is a joyous occasion for our family, as we celebrate the happy life ahead of [Jenna] and her husband, Henry,” the president said during his weekly radio broadcast on Saturday. “It’s also a special time for Laura, who this Mother’s Day weekend will watch a young woman we raised together walk down the aisle.”

Laura admitted she wished her daughter, 26, and Henry would tie the knot at the White House — but Jenna said that wasn’t her style.

“There’s glamour to it, I know,” Jenna said in a Vogue interview. “But Henry and I are far less glamorous than the White House.”

In search of “something organic and low-key,” the couple chose a beautiful spot near a lake on her parents’ ranch.

“We put a giant cross made out of Texas limestone that will serve as the altar, but also serve as a landmark on our place for years to come,” President Bush told Good Morning America Monday.

Jenna donned a “simple and elegant” Oscar de la Renta gown made of organza with embroidery and matte beading, she said.
Before their marriage, they became engaged in August 2007 during a sunrise hike at the Acadia National Park in Maine. Hager gave Jenna an heirloom platinum ring with a round diamond center stone flanked by sapphires. She was overjoyed when she received a sparkling diamond engagement ring from her boyfriend.

Barak Gohn bought the love of his life a sparkling $4,000 diamond engagement ring, which he planned to give his special someone in an elaborate scheme involving a note, a new puppy and him hiding nearby.

So Wednesday night, when Gohn, 23, left Brent L. Miller Jewelers & Goldsmiths on the Manheim Pike, he had a lot on his mind and in his hands. In addition to the ring also happened to be carrying the energetic new puppy, which he had purchased earlier that night and had taken into the jewelry store while he completed his purchase.

But the trouble began when he put the precious little box on top of his car in the parking lot of the jewelry store. He forgot to pick it up. He got in his car and drove away.

An intense feeling of both panic and dread overtook Gohn when he got home to Windsor, in York County, and there realized his mistake.

Today, he is looking for the diamond engagement ring. He has decided to give $500 reward to anybody providing information that leads to the recovery of the diamond engagement ring.

Ah, the allure of pearls is breathtaking! Our attraction to pearls is timeless. It is lustrous to the eye, soft on the skin and very hard to resist. It has fascinated each and every one. It is the perfect gift for your valentine.

Among the first gems known to early humans, pearls have grown in value and appeal from accidental finds by fishermen to a multibillion-dollar industry. Their rarity has made them a traditional sign of wealth, filling vaults from Ancient Egypt to Hollywood and gracing many of history’s famous figures.

Pearls were traditionally associated with purity and love. Its appeal took it to different countries. If we go back to history, the first explorers came ashore from the Atlantic; pearls have been an American favorite. The Western Hemisphere became known as the “Land of Pearls” when Columbus discovered an abundant supply of saltwater pearls off the coast of Venezuela in 1498. John Loring, design director at Tiffany’s, estimates that more than 13 tons of the shimmering gems were taken to Europe by the Spanish in the early 16th century.

“When people see those historic portraits in museums of women covered with pearls,” Loring says, “they think they are Oriental pearls, but they’re not - they’re American.”

American pearls are sheer magic and you can find it everywhere. Pearl rings, pearl stud earrings, pearl earrings, pearl necklace, pearl pendants, pearl brooches and pearl strands are not only popular among Hollywood actors and actress but also among common people. The charm of Pearl Jewelry will go on forever.

The mystery of Hope diamond that has perplexed people for so many years have been solved. The mysterious red glow emitted by the hope diamond has dazzled and captivated people. The famed Hope Diamond, a 45.52 carat deep-blue diamond housed in the Smithsonian Museum, has been long viewed as a cursed gemstone. It was believed that the diamond was stolen from the eye of a sculpted idol of the Hindu goddess Sita. The diamond later became a part of the French Crown Jewels and added more beauty to the collection.

The fact that came out was: The Hope Diamond gives off a mysterious fiery red glow minutes after being exposed to ultraviolet light. This phenomenon was first recorded in 1965. The source of the fiery red glow has puzzled scientists for years. However, US Naval Research Laboratory and Penn State University have recently discovered the source of the phosphorescence comes from the boron present in the gemstone. Boron is the same element that makes this stone appear blue in visible light. Most blue diamonds glow blue or white after exposure to ultraviolet light. The Hope Diamond glows red indicating a mixture of boron and nitrogen. The research changed the curse angle.

The high price of the colored diamonds has created an increase in synthetic colored stones entering the market. Synthetic colored stones have created a market in the hearts of buyers. New technologies, such as the SpectroGem, help to fight the infiltration of synthetically colored stones into the natural gemstone market. These systems scan the movement of light through a diamond and can easily trace colored diamonds from synthetic and “enhanced” diamonds. This same technology can also be used to find out the source of gemstones. Thanks to the power of technology, hope diamond has finally come out of the shadow of curse.

As Valentine’s Day has come very close, jewelry, engagement rings and flowers sale have increased. This romantic day is all about love and tenderness, but surprisingly it has turned out into a holiday driven with competition, hyper-consumerism and dashed hopes. You buy a good gift one year, you have to outdo it the next. And the personalized present appears pale compared to more public presentation. These days, jewelers say, they are seeing more people opting for jewelry gifts for their partners. In a recent poll, it is reported that 85% of women consider jewelry as the “most romantic” gift.

Most of us know that Valentine’s Day is the biggest selling day for jewelry in the United States. The jewelers specialize in all kinds of jewelry including diamond engagement rings and bespoke diamond rings of all shapes and sizes. Here, Jewelers are seeing increase in sales of diamond engagement rings. The most popular engagement rings sold during this period are platinum engagement rings, princess cut diamond rings and classic brilliant diamond engagement rings.

A consumer, Margot—recently engaged— said, “Heart-shaped diamond is a classic gift that women appreciate any time of the year, not just for Valentine’s Day.” “I like to wear ring that is “bold and stylish and more of a fashion piece than a traditional, delicate design,” she explained. For many women, valentine day is not that special. But for most of the women, valentine day is special and on this day, rings are worn to celebrate the beauty of love and if engagement happens on this day, then it’s a great thing.

As engagement ring is a symbol of romance, commitment and a bright, shared future, people order rings according to their own individual requirements. Jewelers offer a choice of cut, clarity, color and carat in diamond to make the perfect engagement ring. And yes, budget matters for many people. So, Valentine’s Day should not be the only day to shower love, it should happen on all days and that to with jewelry.

Every season is a right season to buy jewelry.  And the jewelry market sees a lot of stimulation before Christmas day, Valentines Day and Mothers day. This Christmas the jewelry markets saw the advent of various kinds of jewelry including bracelets, let it be gold bracelet, diamond or silver. Cuff and bangle bracelets were the most sought after.

Wearing stylish bracelets is very much in these days. In fact, a famous magazine had declared the bracelets as best new accessory. Any style you like: thin, thick, cuff, beaded or platinum, pearls etc. all look gorgeous.

If we talk about bracelets, today’s trendy bracelets and necklaces are bold and over sized. Fat gems in deep jewel tones look stylish and fashionable. Most people argue that they do not wear bracelets because they wear watch.

So the best solution for that is buying a bracelet which coordinates and compliments your watch. But who needs a watch these days; your cell phone will manage your time!

Valentines Day is not far. And this year the most stylish gift for her can surely be a Charm Bracelet. A charm bracelet consists of a chain around which different beads or charms can be put. The most famous are the Gold charm bracelets and the White gold charm bracelets.

If budget is not an issue, then diamond bracelet is perfect gift. Though diamond bracelets are costly, but one makes a great gift for yourself or for someone else. One of the most common ways to express your love for a person is by giving that person diamond jewelry.

Wearing an expensive necklace or a diamond pendant will be easier for women now. One can wear a diamond necklace or a stylish pendant at just 10 percent of the cost of product. Many companies these days are entering into the business of renting necklaces and pendants. To avail these services one has to become the member of that particular company. Weekly rentals for members run from $6 to $265, and include a wide range of precious and semiprecious jewelry. But one cannot hand over the amount through credit cards, but have to give cash or through wire transfer. “This is a novel idea,” said one of the customers.

The best part is that one can even order these jewelry online and can have them at home just after two days of ordering it. But the members have also to pay extra for the insurance and shipping charges, the amount of which depends on the piece they have ordered. One can get necklaces, designed by big brands and designers at their doorsteps. The kind of women going for these necklaces and pendants are professional ones. People who do not often wear jewelry or those who like variety but can’t afford to buy them are definitely getting attracted towards such deals.

The important factors that are used to calculate the value of a diamond is 4 C’s— Clarity, Color, Cut and Carat Weight. One of the most important factors of pricing a diamond is its weight or the carat which is the common scam as described earlier. One carat is one-fifth of a gram or 200 milligrams, usually higher the carat the more expensive is the stone. Carat weight is not a factor which denotes diamond quality. It purely denotes the size of a diamond, by its weight. Obviously it also affects the value or price of a diamond.

Another important measure of a diamond is the clarity or the lack of flaws and it is possibly most important of the factors affecting the quality and price of any diamond. In other words, a diamond with flawless clarity is a diamond free from imperfection. When checking for clarity, a jeweler looks for clear characteristics or signs of any inclusions. Inclusions might include cloudy spots, dark spots, or crystals. The more inclusions the diamond has, the lower the clarity of the diamond, which directly affects its attraction and worth.

The other factor is cut which refers to the proportions, finish, symmetry, and polish of the diamond. These factors determine the fire and brilliance of a diamond. Well cut diamonds sell at a premium and poorly cut diamonds sell at discounted prices. Besides that color is also an important factor. Diamonds can occur in nearly any color, though yellow and brown are by far the most common. But, colored diamonds contain impurities or structural defects that cause the coloration, while pure or nearly pure diamonds are transparent and colorless.

These all 4C’s are the ultimate measures that determine the value of diamond. Thus, next time you shop for a diamond, get proper information and choose your favorite diamond with utmost care and consideration.

Wedding ring is used to get marry, but it was surrounded by lots of hugger-mugger when a Calgary couple’s relationship turned out to be a three-ring circus.

James McManus and Corina Lyndeen McCarthy’s matrimonial mess began in December 2005.

For McCarthy, McManus bought a fairly expensive engagement ring. But, McCarthy ended the engagement and returned the ring.

After patching up, the same ring was used in their second engagement as well, which she also ended.

A second ring was ordered for their third engagement but, while it was being made, he cancelled the engagement and ring. The pair finally was engaged for a fourth time on June 20.

McManus said he made it clear on at least three occasions that the ring was to be returned to him in the event their relationship ended. McCarthy denied any such discussion took place.

But Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Colleen Kenny apparently believed the husband.

“It does not at all strike me as strange in the circumstances of this case and given the history of this very volatile up-and-down relationship,” the judge wrote.

And, in his decision, the judge awarded the woman’s third ring — used in their fourth engagement and a marriage that dissolved after just nine days to James McManus.

Another year is drawing to an end and the festive season is upon us! In many countries around the globe, people will be gathering with friends and family to celebrate Christmas and the start of a new year. And the best part is that as the holiday’s approaches, engagement announcements are expected to be at peak numbers for the year.

From October to February, engagement rings sales touch its peak due to the amount of joy associated with these festivals. “Many people purchase engagement rings this time of year, so they can propose during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday,” said Jeff Linenberger, a leading jeweler. He also said that people also like to buy engagement rings during January and February because they want to propose close to Valentine’s Day.

It has been observed that many people tend to get engaged during the holiday season and get married during the summer. Churches often have only a few weddings during the holidays, but some are booked all of June and July. According to Garden City church officials, most of the engagement happens in holidays and marriages in summer. All engagements happen between December and January because a lot of families get together during these holidays, so it becomes easier for the couple to break the news to their families.

In most cases, couples make it a point to purchase engagement rings together. They generally prefer diamond engagement rings. Current bridal fashion favors a solitaire diamond engagement ring set in a band of yellow or white gold, sterling silver, or platinum. However, there are limitless rings for couples to choose from, or have custom-designed. The cut of the diamond may catch everyone’s attention; Princess cut, Tiffany cut, Cartier cut, Square cut, Pear cut, Teardrop cut, Bezel cut, or Round cut – all are stunning and irresistible. The gorgeous Trilogy ring with its three equal-sized diamonds is said to represent the past, the present, and the future.

So, amidst all the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year’s shopping, the romantic atmosphere inspires couples to get engaged and purchase engagement rings from leading online jewelry stores.

Engagement rings portray true love and romance. All engagement rings are available in moissanite, clarity-enhanced diamond, better-quality natural diamond or best-quality natural diamond with round, square (princess cut & carre cut), rectangular (baguette cut), pear shaped and even triangle shaped (trilliant) cuts. Whether you are dreaming white-diamond or colored diamond, engagement rings are present in all combinations. To give you more option, diamonds are also available in blue, pink, green and even black and the ultimate in colored stones are yellow diamonds, which are rarer than their white counterparts.   Engagement rings studded with sapphires, rubies and emeralds are also in demand. Some women still admire the look the late Princess Diana made popular, a sapphire surrounded by diamonds. For those who think all of this is too fussy, there are some simpler styles out there, such as a pretty solitaire flanked by sleek baguette accents or the now-classic three-stone (past, present and future) style. As far as metals are concerned, it is all about platinum and white gold that rule the jewelry style. And there are also some two-tone designs that feature a white metal with yellow or rose gold. But keep in mind, while selecting engagement ring, look at those style of jewelry and the color of metal that your partner normally loves to wear. Know her taste and buy it to make her really happy. To end with it can be said that exceptionally beautiful and elegant diamond engagement ring shows your style and the love you have for your partner.

As the holiday season is around the corner, announcements of engagement are expected to hit the summit this year. To make the best of romantic atmosphere, couples are planning to get engaged during the holiday season and get married during the summer. As a result, engagement rings are selling like hot cakes. This time of the year, most of the people are buying engagement rings, so they can propose during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday. According to a report, 30 percent of all engagements happen between December and January. Thanks to online jewelry stores, new would-be grooms and brides are having great convenience and affordability in buying the perfect engagement ring for their partners.   There are various options available for selecting engagement ring like diamond engagement rings, platinum engagement rings, and gold engagement rings. These engagement rings can have a variety of settings means rings can be made out of gold, silver, and platinum. Among all, engagement setting is the essential part that holds the diamond with claws or prongs and it gives you a choice which kind of diamond you would like to set on the ring. It has been found that Diamond engagement rings are the most popular choice of couples in the west. A symbol of eternal love and togetherness, a diamond ring is a souvenir of the love and trust that binds together. If you are lover of diamonds, apart from diamonds, you can have diamond wedding rings, diamond anniversary rings, diamond pendants, diamond earrings, diamond necklaces, pre-set diamond engagement rings and diamond stud rings.

During Christmas, gifts like jewelry and renting a private island are the prime outlay for

America’s multi-millionaires.  In a recent report, one-third of the 843 rich Americans surveyed — the “super-rich” with a net worth of more than 10 million dollars — said they planned to increase their holiday spending this year by between 17 percent for corporate gifts, and 67 percent for jewelry. After surveying 280 super rich, the Elite Traveler Magazine and the Prince and Associates market research group informed that the cumulative planned spending by the super-rich group increased 27 percent more than last year, on average nearly 488,000 dollars is earmarked per person for yacht rentals. That was the biggest expenditure on their collective wish list, followed by nearly 190,000 dollars a person for cars and 152,000 dollars for jewelry.Compared to the last year, spending on wine and spirits for entertaining was up by 39 percent, while around 46,000 dollars was being spent on fashion.
